Vintage Notes
A long, cool growing season with no major heat spikes allowed the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to ripen slowly and evenly, achieving full phenolic maturity without excessive sugar accumulation. Generous winter rains replenished soils and supported healthy vine growth, producing an above-average yield of balanced, vibrant fruit. This ideal combination of weather and vine health resulted in Cabernets with remarkable purity, complexity, and classic structure, offering excellent aging potential.

Winemaking Notes
The Reserve was crafted from three individual estate blocks, all hand-picked and hand-sorted. Malolactic fermentation occurred in French oak barrels, and the wine was aged for 22 months—one-third in new oak and two-thirds in neutral. Final blending was completed two months prior to bottling to ensure harmony, balance, and a refined expression of the estate fruit.

The 2025 Stag & Quail Napa Valley Chardonnay is a beautifully crafted small-production wine that showcases the elegance and balance of premium Napa Valley fruit. Produced from just 168 cases and aged for six months in traditional 60-gallon French oak barrels, this Chardonnay delivers remarkable complexity without sacrificing freshness.
Bright aromas of white peach, nectarine, lemon zest, and honeysuckle lead into a silky palate layered with poached pear, apple compote, toasted hazelnut, and subtle vanilla. A lively core of acidity keeps the wine vibrant and food-friendly, while gentle oak influence adds texture and refinement. At 13.5% alcohol, it strikes an ideal balance between richness and restraint.

Tasting notes
Brilliant pale gold in color, this Chardonnay opens with expressive aromas of white peach, ripe nectarine, lemon zest, and honeysuckle. The palate reveals layers of poached pear, apple compote, toasted hazelnut, brioche, and light vanilla. Fresh acidity and a silky texture carry through a long, clean, and elegant finish.

Winemaking
Traditional craftsmanship defines every bottle of Stag & Quail Chardonnay. Hand-harvested fruit was whole-cluster pressed and fermented in classic 60-gallon French oak Burgundy barrels. Partial malolactic fermentation and six months of lees aging with periodic bâtonnage enhanced texture and complexity while preserving the wine's natural freshness and purity.

Vineyard & Terroir
The estate vineyards are located in the cooler southern reaches of Napa Valley, where morning fog from San Pablo Bay moderates temperatures and allows for slow, even ripening. Volcanic and alluvial soils contribute depth and minerality, while low-yield vines deliver concentrated flavors and exceptional aromatic intensity.
