Winemaking Notes
The Reserve was crafted from three individual estate blocks, all hand-picked and hand-sorted. Malolactic fermentation occurred in French oak barrels, and the wine was aged for 22 months—one-third in new oak and two-thirds in neutral. Final blending was completed two months prior to bottling to ensure harmony, balance, and a refined expression of the estate fruit.
Tasting Notes
Deep, opaque ruby in the glass with remarkable density and intensity.
The nose opens with expressive aromas of black cherry, cassis, and ripe plum, evolving into layers of dark chocolate, espresso, cedar, and crushed violet.
On the palate, this is a full-bodied and structured Cabernet Sauvignon with velvety tannins and concentrated dark fruit at its core. Notes of blackberry, mocha, and baking spice unfold gradually, supported by balanced acidity and elegant oak integration.
The finish is long, polished, and persistent — a classic Oakville Cabernet with both immediate appeal and long-term cellar potential.

Winemaking
Hand-harvested estate fruit from Oakville AVA is carefully sorted and fermented in small-lot, temperature-controlled open-top fermenters. Extended cold soak and controlled maceration are used to build depth, color, and structure. The wine is aged in French oak barriques (new and second-fill) and bottled unfined to preserve purity and expression.

Vineyard & Terroir
Monte Sovrano Estate is located in the heart of the Oakville AVA, one of Napa Valley’s most prestigious and historically significant Cabernet Sauvignon appellations.
The vineyard benefits from Oakville’s renowned benchland soils — a mix of Bale clay loam and well-drained alluvial deposits that encourage deep root development and naturally concentrated fruit expression.
Warm daytime temperatures combined with cool evening air from the surrounding valley create ideal diurnal shifts, preserving acidity while allowing full phenolic ripeness. These conditions consistently produce Cabernet Sauvignon with structure, depth, and long aging potential.
The 2022 vintage is widely regarded as one of Napa Valley’s strongest recent growing seasons, delivering exceptional balance and fruit purity across the region.
