Winemaking
The 2024 vintage was hand-harvested during the cool September harvest and crafted using traditional small-lot techniques. Approximately 15% whole clusters were included to enhance complexity and spice. After a 5–7 day cold soak, fermentation took place in open-top fermenters using native wild yeast, with gentle hand punch-downs performed throughout fermentation.
The wine underwent full malolactic fermentation in barrel before aging for 12 months in French oak barrels, including 40% new oak. The wine was bottled unfined with only light sterile filtration, preserving both texture and vineyard expression.

Hawthorne & Pierce is a small-production label crafted to showcase the singular character of the Hawthorne
Vineyard, a distinguished estate nestled in the heart of the Russian River Valley AVA. Situated in Sonoma County's
most celebrated Pinot Noir corridor, the vineyard benefits from the valley's defining terroir: morning fog that rolls in
from the Pacific, cool afternoons, and long, slow-ripening days that preserve natural acidity while building
extraordinary complexity.
The Russian River Valley is consistently recognized as one of the world's premier cool-climate winegrowing regions
— producing Pinot Noir of remarkable elegance, silkiness, and aromatic depth. Hawthorne Vineyard exemplifies
this reputation.
