The 10 Acre 2022 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon captures the intensity and structure associated with Napa Valley's high-elevation vineyards. Located above the morning fog, Howell Mountain benefits from abundant sunshine, cool nighttime temperatures, steep slopes, and rocky volcanic soils that naturally restrict vine vigor.
The 2022 growing season produced exceptionally concentrated fruit, with naturally low yields, warm days above the valley fog, and cool nights encouraging depth while preserving freshness and acidity. The resulting Cabernet combines tremendous power with polished structure, dark fruit concentration, mineral complexity, and impressive aging potential.
Produced in just 100 cases, this limited release is offered to Napa Daily Deals subscribers at $32 per bottle, with only 60 bottles allocated to the offer.

Winemaking Notes
The Reserve was crafted from three individual estate blocks, all hand-picked and hand-sorted. Malolactic fermentation occurred in French oak barrels, and the wine was aged for 22 months—one-third in new oak and two-thirds in neutral. Final blending was completed two months prior to bottling to ensure harmony, balance, and a refined expression of the estate fruit.

Vineyard & Winemaking
High above the Napa Valley floor, Howell Mountain AVA rises above the morning fog, receiving abundant sunshine and dramatic day-to-night temperature swings. The vineyard sits at approximately 1,700 feet, with volcanic tufa and rocky red clay soils that naturally restrict vine vigor and contribute to concentrated fruit and pronounced structure. The vines are trained using Vertical Shoot Positioning, with Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 337 on 110R rootstock, average vine age of 25 years, and yields of approximately 1.8 tons per acre.
The fruit was hand harvested during cool morning hours and double sorted by cluster and berry before a five-day cold soak. Native and selected yeast fermentation was followed by gentle lot-specific pump-overs and 30 days of maceration. After basket pressing, malolactic fermentation was completed entirely in barrel. The wine was then aged for 26 months in French oak, 90% of it new, before being bottled unfined and lightly filtered.
Winemaking & Vineyard
Sourced entirely from Perennial Vineyard, this single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon reflects the balance and consistency that define this distinctive Napa Valley site. Careful farming practices allow the fruit to reach optimal ripeness while preserving freshness and varietal character, creating a wine that expresses both richness and precision.
Following harvest, the wine was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, adding subtle layers of cedar, vanilla, and structure without overshadowing the vineyard's natural fruit expression. The result is a beautifully balanced Cabernet Sauvignon with silky tannins, refined complexity, and a long, elegant finish.
