Winemaking Notes

The Reserve was crafted from three individual estate blocks, all hand-picked and hand-sorted. Malolactic fermentation occurred in French oak barrels, and the wine was aged for 22 months—one-third in new oak and two-thirds in neutral. Final blending was completed two months prior to bottling to ensure harmony, balance, and a refined expression of the estate fruit.

Winemaker's Notes

The 2022 vintage in Oakville produced Cabernet Sauvignon with remarkable concentration, balance, and elegance. Favorable growing conditions and careful vineyard management allowed the fruit to achieve optimal ripeness while preserving freshness and structure. Aging for 24 months in 100% new French oak adds complexity and refinement without overshadowing the character of the fruit. The result is a Cabernet Sauvignon that delivers immediate appeal while possessing the structure and depth to reward years of careful cellaring.

Vineyard

ANZA sources its Cabernet Sauvignon from carefully selected vineyards within the renowned Oakville AVA, one of Napa Valley's most celebrated regions for world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. Warm days, cool afternoon breezes from the San Pablo Bay, and well-drained gravelly loam, volcanic ash, and ancient alluvial soils create ideal conditions for producing fruit with exceptional concentration, balance, and aging potential. Sustainable farming practices help preserve vineyard health while allowing the distinctive character of Oakville to shine through every bottle.
